Blog Writing- Now everyone’s cuppa
Blog writing has become a trend, not only with professional writers but its bug seems to have bitten almost everyone who wants his/her presence in the online arena. Having a website running on the internet may not be relevant for every individual but one can certainly maintain a blog discussing anything under the sun.
To create an impressive blog, be it your company, organisation or your personal one, remember the following points and see more and more readers getting hooked on to your blog with every passing day.
1. Know who your readers are. This would help you formulate your article in a way that it appeals to your readers in the very first go.
2. Make it worth reading by including informational things be it your own experience, latest trend, etc. You could even share what you read lately or even talk about the latest flick that you watched over the weekend.
3. Silly grammatical or spelling mistakes can put your readers off and might even deter them from reader further. Therefore, proof reading, at least once, can make a difference to the way you want to present your write-up to the world.
4. Remember the KISS (Keep it short and simple) formula: Don’t stretch your words. Exaggeration may render boredom to your write-up, hence, making your readers loose interest.
5. Put life into your write-up. Make it lively by using interactive words or phrases like imagine, you, your, think, try, etc. Create a write-up as if created for your friend. Keep in mind the journalist’s rule of 5 W’s in the first paragraph: who, what, why, when and where.
6. Remember to link often. This would add credibility to your blog and positions you as an expert writer. This would also help you building your own network of professional writers who in turn link to your blog.
7. Make your write-up keyword rich. This will shoot up your ranking on various search engines. Hence, your blog would attract more readers, comments, interactivity, etc, hence making it more popular among like minded people.
8. Be clear in your thoughts. Avoid jargon. Don’t write to confuse your readers rather to sustain their interest and look forward to the next posting.
9. Make sure to insert appropriate punctuation marks. Don’t over-do it.
